Privacy policy

What we collect, why we need it, who it has to go to on a managed-building move, and what you can ask us to do with it.

This policy covers londonremovals.london and the removals service operated under the name London Removals. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

  • Enquiry details — name, phone number, email address, pickup and drop-off addresses, preferred date and any notes sent through the quote form.
  • Survey information — notes, measurements, an inventory, and condition records (photographs and written notes of existing marks) for items where those are warranted.
  • Building and access details — floors, lift availability, listing status, and the identity of any freeholder, porter or square committee whose permission is needed.
  • Website analytics — anonymous usage data via Google Analytics.

Our disclosure position

Where a building, porter or garden-square committee requires notification before a move, we supply the minimum that permission actually requires: the date, the address within the building, and the vehicle. Never an inventory, never a valuation, never a description of contents.

We will not confirm to any third party that a move is booked, happening or completed. That includes people who present themselves as entitled to know. If you are asked to expect such an approach, tell us and we will note it on the file.

What we do not do with your information

We take no photographs of your property or its contents for marketing, and we do not ask permission to. Survey images exist solely to plan the move or record condition, and they are deleted with the rest of the job file. We name no customers anywhere — on this site, in proposals, or in conversation.

Vehicles can be unbranded at your request. This is a privacy measure and it is available without explanation.

Property information and why it matters

A survey creates a record of what is inside a specific address and when that address will be empty. We treat that as sensitive. Notes, photographs and inventories sit on access-controlled systems, are shared only with the crew assigned to your move, and are never passed to third parties for marketing.

Who else we share it with

Storage providers where you have booked storage; our insurers where a claim arises; our accountants for financial records. We do not sell your information. Where another firm in this network is better placed to serve your address, we tell you — we do not pass your details to them.

Why we hold it

  • To prepare a quote, at your request, before any contract exists.
  • To perform a move you have booked.
  • To obtain building access permissions on your behalf.
  • To meet accounting and tax record-keeping requirements.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are of no further use. Job records, including inventories, are kept for the period required for insurance, claims and accounting, and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where no continuing obligation requires us to keep it, or object to how we use it.

To make a request, email hello@londonremovals.london. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

Google Analytics cookies to measure usage, and reCAPTCHA on the quote form to prevent automated abuse. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page. Material changes affecting an active booking will be communicated to you directly.
